Why Costa Rica
Why Should You Consider Costa Rica as a place to live?
Costa Rica is a middle-income, developing economy, with a long tradition of democracy. The life expectancy is one of the world’s highest. Tourist facilities are extensive, and because English is a second language for many Costa Ricans, the country feels very visitor-friendly.
The land itself is mostly hills and beaches. And, of course, the weather is simply made for leisure. The climate here is both tropical and subtropical; the dry season is December to April; the rainy season is May to November. In Costa Rica you have the possibility to choose the climate where you want lo live. The altitude where you decide to live, decides the climate you will experience. On the beaches the climate is hotter then in the mountains. But I will hardly get colder then 15 degrees Celcius at night in most places of Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is true a nature-lover’s dream. It is home to a vast variety of plant and animal-wildlife. While the country has only 0.1% of the world’s landmass, it contains a stunning 5% of the world’s biodiversity. The density of nature is 50 times higher then average. Probably because the country has a very active approach to conservation. A huge 25% of the country’s land area is in protected National parks. With this number Costa Rica has the largest percentage of protected areas in the world.
